I am grateful to have found this site, as I've been trying to change the world for about a year and a half now.  I think Zaadz will make it a lot easier.  And without further ado, the vision:

For quite a while, the human community has been fragmented by a simple fact: there are thousands of languages and no efficient way to communicate between them.  Imagine that each language is a patch of cloth.  There are least two important things to notice about this metaphor.  First, that each patch is currently connected to any other patch by only a few threads, and second, that all these patches made from the same material - the human voice.

What I prospose is that we make a quilt.  There are at least three ways to do this.  The first is that everyone learns every language.  I don't think this is practical.  The second is that everyone learn a common language.  This is a bit more practical.  The third is that everyone learn a common writing system.  This, I believe, is most practical.

If vocal communication is like silk thread, then written communication is more like kevlar.  There are two writing systems that I know of that could be used to stitch this quilt together.  The first is Blissymbolics (aka Blissym) and the second is Mediaglyphs.  Both are ways of representing ideas rather than sounds.  Both are easier to learn than the easiest language.  But neither has hit the tipping point.  Yet.  Zaadz is the place to stand, now all we need is a lever.
